step 1Production
Construction starts or continues on all structures.
Orders to create Lessers, Conjure & summon forms are processed, consuming Treasure & Fury in the process. This means that all your completed structures, lessers & forms will be on the Map before anything else happens which more importantly means they are open to attack & the effects of spells cast upon them as Spells & movement come later in the process.
Consider "if your brave enough to have a go" that an enemy may be building a fort, your pretty sure you know where it will appear so you could cast a starpiecer upon that region, as spells follow Construction, the fort would appear & be destroyed before it can be used, this is called a "blind star pierce", I've tried it a few times, although I'm not sure it ever worked as my enemies have never been willing to admit if I got it or not, lol
Step 2Allegiences
All Changes to Player allegiences are Analysed & processed. In Allegience games, a worthwile tactic to consider is Combining forces with another player to attack a common enemy, in my experience, they never see it coming ;)
While this is mainly used for political Manouvering at end game, consider that you & your Nap have a substantial presence in the area but neither of you have the numbers to best your common enemy, if you were to pledge allegience to one or the other & attack as a combined force, you may well win the day.
It must be noted that all forces remaining after the battle will then become the property of the Emporer unless the battle is fought on a region owned by the follower, During this battle, any fury earned by the forces will go to the owner of those forces.
Step 3Spells
Spells are compared, selected & cast on regions. How are Spells compared & selected you ask, well I covered that in an introduction to spells, but heres a quick run down :)
When Multiple players cast spells on the same region, the player who spent the most in Fury wins & their spell is cast during that cycle, the loser loses any fury spent & obviously the spell doesn't work.
If both players cast a spell for the same amount, then neither spell will take effect & neither player will get their fury back.Remember, spells cast will effect all ordered troops, forms & structures set to appear that cycle.
For Instance, if you cast a sacrifice spell on a fort with 100 men standing there & order 200 men, the spell will go off saccing the combined total of 300 lessers, also if you cast a suckerman nearby a fort, all troops ordered from that fort will also be sucked into the battle as they appeared before the spell was cast.
Step 4Movement & Battles
All deployed forces move toward their destination region, They will stop on the border momentarily & if enemy forces are moving toward them, a "Border Battle" occurs, the winner of this battle then proceeds to the interior of their destination region, if more enemy forces are present, another battle takes place.
All battles are resolved during this phase.Remembering that all troops, forms & structures have already been placed on the map by this point of the turn, attacking a fort for instance may see you find a lot more troops there than what you saw going into the tick.
Step 5Cede Regions
Players can transfer ownership of regions to neighbouring players by Ceding these regions.
If, after battles have occured, the player still owns the region they are ceding, it is then transferred to the selected player, otherwise it remains the property of the new owner. It must be noted that All lessers, forms & structures present at the time of the transfer, will become the property of the new owner, This includes forms that are being absorbed as absorption doesn't occur until later in the turn process.
Step 6Resources
Each occupied region produces treasure according to the region's terrain type & Fury is awarded to players who have killed other units in battle. Not much to be said here, all new T & F is based around everything you own ofr have killed after all battles have occured.
Step 7Absorption
Forms are absorbed at temples.Note, this is happening after battles & spells, so forms being absorbed must survive any battles in that tick before actually being Absorbed.
Also note, forms with negative fuel will be absorbed before their fuel is taken into account, this means if a form is set to die that tick from a lack of fuel, absorbing it will save it & theres no need to cast a windrider unless you think it will face a battle of some description as mentioned previously.
Step 8Cleanup
Lastly, various cleanup operations are performed. This includes: Lessers getting upgraded/downgraded based on the number of Black Betweens owned by players.
Forms lose health due to having negative Fuel.
the game checks to see if it is finished.
lessers owned by players that are on dunes are subject to dying.
and lastly, lessers/forms trapped on inaccessible regions are killed off.
